Corbas

This week, the new wholesale market of Corbas, in Lyon, opened its doors. The new site consists of two buildings that will house the 18 wholesalers and 70 producers on a total area of 35,000m2.

Lyon’s wholesalers were located for more than 50 years at the city’s Perrache transport hub, which has over time become ill-suited to the demands of today’s fresh produce industry.

The new market will reportedly commercialise 300,000 tonnes of fruit and vegetables per year, making it the second most important market in France after Paris-Rungis.
