Fruit Logistica 2009 was the venue for the launch of a German version of the book 'Blueberries, Nutritious and Medicinal fruit', written by Margarete Dressler and backed by Chilean berry grower-exporter Hortifruit and its European partner Atlantic Blue.
The book, which was launched in English at the 2008 Global Berry Congress in London, is comprised of the latest global blueberry studies, the fruit's history and its potential health benefits.
'Being able to research how this little but important fruit has evolved, being produced in many different places of the world and at the same time studying how blueberriesare both a nutritious and a medicinal fruit, has been an amzing experience,' said Ms Dressler at the launch in Berlin.
'This book is a contribution to the blueberry industry worldwide,' she added.
