Danish shipping group Maersk Line has announced rate increases for all cargo in the Asia to Europe trade, starting in April and July of this year.

The company stated that rate increases were necessary for the company to continue operating its services to the high levels of reliability its customers had come to expect.

Maersk Line will also be increasing its rate offers to inland haulage locations during April and May 2009, the company revealed.

In a statement, the company said that it is “dedicated to the Asia – Europe trade and is committed to maintain our service level and coverage. Therefore, we are continuously optimising our network and looking for ways to make our operations more cost effective and competitive.”
