The UK’s annual Seasonal Berries marketing campaign is this year focusing on delivering key messages to highlight value and the better taste delivered by eating British berries in season.

The promotional campaign, which is run by public relations agency Sputnik on behalf of British Summer Fruit, is aiming to exploit media and consumer interest in British produce and value for money.

According to the agency, this year’s marketing activities will offer detailed information about berry varieties and growing seasons to demonstrate the breadth of the British berry offering and range available to the UK consumer.

The campaign has already kicked off and Sputnik said much work is being done to secure high profile opportunities for British growers to talk about the industry and why it is important to support British berry growers.

Overall themes of thrift and reducing wastage will be important and be echoed throughout the campaign events and activities, which will include a number of consumer berry tastings and a tour of major media outlets.

The campaign’s website (www.seasonalberries.co.uk) will remain an important hub for all consumers need to know about berry varieties, growing, usage and health information.

More information about the campaign will be announced in May at the start of the British strawberry season.
