Total Control Systems (UK), a specialist in supply chain management, enterprise resource planning and traceability software for the import-export and distribution industries, has gone into administration.

The company is a key technology supplier to a number of major fresh produce companies, including Del Monte and Fyffes.

Paul Masters, director at UK corporate recovery firm Leonard Curtis, has been appointed as the company's joint administrator.

A total of 19 of its 28 staff have been made redundant, according to Leonard Curtis, due to what it described as 'historic levels of debt' at the firm.

However, the administrators are continuing to trade the company with a view to identifying a buyer for the business, it added.

Commenting on the administration, Mr Masters said: “The business has a strong and committed client base. We have already received a number of expressions of interest and we are hopeful that a sale can be concluded within the next couple of weeks.”
