Harrison Europac has launched a new range of plastic containers created using its new high clarity polypropylene (PP) and designed for use in the food industry.
The group, one of the UK's leading suppliers of plastic trays and lids and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Danish group Faersch Plast, has developed the containers to provide transparency and impact resistance, even at low temperatures.
The new-look PP trays offer excellent on-shelf impact, brand appeal and protective qualities as well as environmental and space-saving benefits, the company said in a statement.
'We believe that this is the first time the convenience food sector has benefited from a clear PP packaging substrate that has been purpose designed to provide high-impact resistance with truly exceptional clarity,' said Harrison Europac managing director Joe Iannidinardo.
PP is designed to provide better uniformity to containers, according to the group, which helps to further increase reliability and stability during high speed de-nesting, sealing and packing.
'The robust, highly transparent material gives consumers peace of mind by allowing them to better assess the quality and authenticity of the product they are buying,' Mr Iannidinardo added. 'It also enhances brand appeal by conveying a clean, sharp and fresh look. Feedback from customers already benefiting from the new PP has been extremely positive.'
