MTEX grapes

Israeli grower-exporter MTEX has revealed that it expects to start the season for its Early Sweet grapes shortly, in week 23, which is approximately the same time as last year.

“We are expecting to harvest 3,000 tonnes of the Early Sweet, and about 1,500 tonnes will be for export,” says Dirk Willem Blijleven, commercial director of MTEX Holland. “Most of our volume is exported to our branches in the Netherlands and the UK.”

In addition to the Early Sweet variety, MTEX also exports Mystry, Flame Seedless and Superior Seedless, which comes later in the season.

“MTEX remains one step ahead of its competitors by having developed one of the world’s most advanced traceability systems,” says Mr Biljleven, “which provides for transparency and accountability in the rare instances that problems occur.”
