Brazilian president Lula da Silva revealed this week that Brazil and Saudi Arabia wished to cooperate to help supply the latter’s food needs.

“Brazil can be a strategic partner for Saudi Arabia in food security,” he told Saudi business leaders in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, adding that companies from both countries might form partnerships to produce goods needed by the Kingdom.

A Saudi delegation is reportedly due to visit Brazil by December in order to examine agricultural opportunities in detail.
