Leading agribusiness Syngenta has reported a sales increase of 20 per cent for the first quarter of 2008, with sales of crop protection products up by 13 per cent.

Strong growth in vegetables was attributed to the consolidation of Zeraim Gedera and Fischer, while seed sales enjoyed a 13 per cent rise compared with 2007.
