Liverpool Produce Terminal

UK-based logistics group Cold Move Ltd has taken over ownership of Liverpool Produce Terminal (LPT), based at Seaforth Docks, from Go Associates Limited.

Go Associates had been formed to promote and develop the business of the recently-completed 5,000 pallet terminal, but is now being placed in liquidation.

'The costs of developing the business of LPT by GO Associates proved to be significantly in excess of the amounts that had been budgeted for, and this has led to Go Associates not being able to meet all the required costs involved in this new venture,' said James Woodward, managing director of Cold Move. 'We will be opening LPT as a subsidiary of our successful business which is in excess of 50 years old, and see it as an extension of our current network of warehouses and distribution operations in the UK.'

'We are totally committed to making the terminal a success and continue to believe that this is an exciting and viable project which will offer retailers, wholesalers and importers an economical and green alternative solution to the importation of fresh produce into the UK,' he added.
