Juventus SantOrsola

Sant'Orsola, Italy's largest supplier of soft fruit, was joined by members of the Juventus football team as it formally opened the 2009 season with the inauguration of a new walking route under the banner 'Sentiero dei Piccoli Frutti' ('The Soft Fruit Path').

Amauri Carvalho de Oliveira and Hasan Salihamidžic, respectively numbers 11 and 7 at the Serie A club, were on hand to cut the ribbon on a new path which has been built for cyclists and pedestrians in the Valle dei Mòcheni, at the heart of the Trento-based cooperative's production area.

Representatives of local institutions and governing bodies, who contributed to the project, were also present.

The pathway, which is 10km long, winds its way through fields on the banks of the Torrente Fersina where the cooperative produces strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries and currants.

'We are very happy to have these two great champions here giving their seal of approval to Sentiero dei Piccoli Frutti,' commented Michele Scrinzi, general director of Sant'Orsola. 'As well as thanking them we are also grateful to the various Trentino organisations which have made possible the creation of this important local project, of which we are extremely proud.'
