Alara's chief executive officer Kerim Taner has revealed that unfavourable climatic conditions during the pollination period and 'tired' trees due to over-cropping in 2007 have combined to reduce cherry volumes for the current campaign. This season, according to Mr Taner, the crop is down by 50-70 per cent in some regions of Turkey.
