UK Berry cooperative KG Growers Limited (KGG) has announced record turnover of £117m (€149.2m) for 2007, representing a 23 per cent rise on the previous year's figure.

Commenting on the results, chairman Marion Regan revealed that sales of strawberries and raspberries had performed especially well, outpacing current market growth rates.

The formation of European marketing company BerryGardens with Driscoll's and Alconeras at the start of last year had also contributed to increased profitability, she said. 'Although this really was a logical next step in the evolution of KGG, it genuinely does herald the start of a new era for us,' she commented.
