Corsican clementine

From mid-October to the end of December, Corsican clementines will once again become available to French consumers. This season, some 17,000 tonnes of clementines are forecast, according to Végétable.

On the French island of Corsica, approximately 80 per cent of production comes under the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) label. The clementines receive no post-harvest treatment or artificial ripening; they are picked when ripe and are sold with their leaves still attached.

Promotions in France will reportedly include radio spots on France Inter and France Bleu in the last weekend of November and the first weekend of December. In addition, there will be a total of 400 days of in-store activities, particularly in the southeast of France.
