Bonduelle

French fresh-cut specialist Bonduelle has announced an increase in turnover of 4 per cent for the first quarter of the 2009/2010 campaign compared with the year-earlier period.

According to the company, turnover reached €362.7m between 1 July and 30 September, a rise of 5.4 per cent at constant exchange rates.

The majority of this growth came from outside of Europe, where Bonduelle's sales increased by 8.2 per cent, compared with just 2.7 per cent within Europe.

However, at constant exchange rates and on a comparable basis, sales outside of Europe were down by 3.2 per cent, while sales within Europe were up by 0.9 per cent.

Sales of Bonduelle's canned products grew by 1.1 per cent at constant exchange rates, while sales of frozen products fell by 2.9 per cent. The company's fresh business remained stable, growing by 0.7 per cent.
