Intercitrus campaign

Spanish citrus marketing organisation Intercitrus is launching a new promotional campaign today (17 November), under the slogan ‘Vitamin C, your natural reinforcement’.

The group said the campaign was aimed at promoting the consumption of citrus, while also emphasising to consumers the natural health benefits offered by eating oranges and clementines.

The publicity drive will see free samples and information leaflets being handed out at a number of locations in Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia, while supporting materials will also be distributed in fruit markets across the country.

Intercitrus said it also planned to deliver 2.5kg sample cartons filled with fresh citrus to “opinion leaders” across the three provinces, while the campaign will be promoted through a dedicated website (www.turefuerzonatural.es).

With awareness of the swine flu, or H1N1, virus widespread across Spain, the organisation is keen to emphasise the natural protection that citrus offers against cold and flu viruses, although it fell short of making any claims about the current strain.
