Bonduelle

French fresh-cut specialist Bonduelle last week confirmed the acquisition of France Champignon, the European market leader for mushrooms, according to French weekly Fld.

France Champignon, which specialises in canned, frozen, fresh, pasteurised and dried mushrooms and boasts a turnover of some €200m, will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Groupe Bonduelle, including five factories in France and one in Poland.

The acquisition will allow Bonduelle to penetrate the mushroom market, from which it has been absent barring a sub-contract in Germany.
