Peru Red Globe grapes

The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), an agency within the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), has re-listed Red Globes on its register of table grape varieties exempt from marketing order regulations before entry to the US between 10 April and 10 June.

The decision comes just two weeks after the variety was added to the list – a move which caused surprise and anxiety among the table grape export trade, according to a report by Chilean news service Portal Frutícola.

Red Globes rejoin a number of varieties exempt from the order, including Almería, Barlinka, Bonheur (Bonnoir), Christmas Rose, Emperor, Kyojo, Muscatel, Ribier, Sonita, Waltham Cross, Alphonse Lavelle, Bien Donne, Calmeria, Dauphine, Italia Pirovano, La Rochelle, Queen, Rouge and Tokay.
