Bonduelle

Bonduelle has reported on what it has described as a 'stable' first nine months of fiscal 2009/10, with group sales hitting €127.8m, down 0.1 per cent on actual exchange rates or up 0.7 per cent at constant exchange rates.

The France-based convenience specialist noted that turnover through the third quarter of the1 July 2009-31 March 2010 period had suffered the negative impact of changes in product scope, which had been slightly offset by the appreciation of certain currencies such as the Russian rouble and the Canadian dollar.

Fresh prepared vegetables saw limited activity due to the economic crisis and extreme weather limiting raw material supply, with sales dropping by 1.6 per cent, although the group said that the Bonduelle brand had improved its position in France.

Looking ahead, Bonduelle said that it would continue to strengthen its competitive position and increase the presence of its brands in more countries, with the company expecting year-on-year operating profit growth of 6-7 per cent for the fiscal year.
