Rungis

The International Market of Rungis, in Paris, has just completed the total renovation of its railway terminal.

The finished works will see the delivery capacity by rail increase from the current 200,000 tonnes of fruit and vegetables to some 400,000 tonnes.

Started in June 2006, the restructuring of the railway terminal will enable the transfer of entire trains.

Rungis is the only wholesale market to benefit from such an installation, which equally allows customers to get to the market easily.

These works were initiated and cofinanced by the Ile-de-France region (which provided €6.65m), the general Counsel of the Val-de-Marne (€6.25m), SNCF Geodis (€3.05m) and the management company for the International Market of Rungis, Semmaris (€3.05m).
