Belgian auction Veiling Hoogstraten and Dutch auction Veiling Zundert will host the first International Strawberry Congress on 1-3 September 2010 under the title “Research & Sustainable Production Leading to Successful Marketing”.
The main congress venue will be the Hilton Hotel in the historic centre of Antwerp, with trips to Hoogstraten and Zundert.
The International Strawberry Congress focuses on the development, production and marketing of strawberries, with sustainability as its central theme.
Veiling Hoogstraten has set itself the target of selling over 25,000 tonnes of strawberries in 2010. This target, combined with the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, was a factor inspiring the establishment of this congress.
