Strawberries (taller photo)

Due to abnormally cold weather in May, the Norwegian strawberry season has been delayed by around two weeks, according to Norvege.fr.

Nevertheless, producers say that this year’s strawberries will be worth the wait. In Norway, there is great demand for locally produced strawberries, which are considered as a delicacy in the country.

However, this year the strawberries, which are cultivated in open air, will struggle to be ripe before St John’s Day on 24 June, with picking expected on around 15 July.
