UGPBAN

The port of Dunkirk and UGPBAN (the union of banana grower associations in Martinique and Guadeloupe) have agreed to strengthen their partnership with the signing last week of a new charter.

The charter guarantees a high level of quality during the unloading of bananas from Martinique and Guadeloupe at Dunkirk port and lays out a plan to ensure progress in the area of sustainable development.

The document was signed back in mid-January by Martine Bonny, president of the board of Dunkirk port, and by the presidents of the banana producer groups, Banalliance, Banagap and LPG.

However, it was not until last week that Eric de Lucy, UGPBAN president, finally confirmed the charter.
