Faced with rising demand, Florette, the leading pre-packaged vegetables provider in Europe, has elected to develop its facilities in Italy and Spain.

In Italy, where demand for fresh ready-to-eat vegetables is constantly on the rise, Florette has set up a production site in the north of Milan, close to areas with a strong potential for growth.

The close proximity guarantees the products' high quality level and optimum freshness. At this new site, Florette expects volumes to grow to 3,500 tonnes annually by the end of 2008, eventually reaching 6,000 tonnes.

In Spain, Florette's Milagro site has reached its full capacity. The company therefore decided at the end of last year to forge a partnership with Hongos Del Dia, located in Inesta, between Madrid and Valencia, to create additional lines.

These investments enable the company to increase its production capacity of salads and vegetables by 3,500 tonnes.

Following these manoeuvres, Florette now boasts eight production sites: three in France, one in the UK, two in Spain, one in Switzerland and one in Italy.
