Kenya beans

A delegation from Kenya paid a visit to Rungis International Market in Paris last week, accompanied by the minister of agriculture.

Although avocados and green beans are Kenya's top exports, the delegation identified real opportunities for other exotics, including mangoes, passionfruit, sweet potatoes and lemons, as well as mention flowers.

According to Végétable, the Kenyan exporters expressed a desire to export directly, avoiding as much as possible the need to send via Dutch importers.

One object of the visit was to enable Kenyan exporters to better understand the French market and its demands in order to be able to adapt their technical and commercial strategies accordingly.

However, the main weakness of this origin is logistics, with transportation costs and insurance rates remaining at high levels.
