UK-based fresh produce supplier Fresca Group has announced the appointment of Andrew Sharp as its new group technical director. Mr Sharp is currently running the recently established apple and pear business at Fresca Group’s subsidiary company Mack Multiples.
Agrexco’s board of directors, headed by Yuval Oren, has announced that it has appointed David Bondi as its new chief executive officer, effective 2 September 2010. Mr Bondi steps in to the position vacated by the long-serving Shlomo Tirosh, who served the Israeli fresh produce giant for over 25 years and as chief executive officer from 1994.
Dole Fresh UK has announced that industry renowned supply-chain specialist Matthew Rowbury has been appointed as its new supply chain director, a new role at the company and one that he took up on 20 September.
Ralf Hörstgen, the highly experienced former Chiquita and Fyffes executive, has left his position as sales manager at Cobana Fruchtring to take up the role of Director Key Account Management at Univeg. Mr Hörstgen will report to Francis Kint, CEO of the fruit and vegetable business unit.
Torben Flinch, managing director of Copenhagen Markets in Denmark, has succeeded Graham Wallace, managing director of City Markets (Glasgow) LLP as chairman of the World Union of Wholesale Markets.
Federico Vasquez, the current president of Lapanday Foods Corporation, has left the Philippine company after a decade of working with industry partners in Asia and the Middle East. Mr Vasquez took over as general manager of Chiquita Brands’ Ecuador on 1 October.
