Central America’s 15th agricultural trade show – the Agritrade Expo & Conference – takes place in Antigua, Guatemala, on 17-18 March 2011.

Recognised as the most important international agricultural trade fair in Central America, organisers claim Agritrade is designed to promote the region’s competitiveness and boost overseas business opportunities via an exhibition, business matchmaking meetings and a conference program.

“Agritrade is the gateway to export markets for agricultural items produced under high food safety and quality standards and serves as a business opportunity for buyers and investors,” Mónica Figueroa of Agexport told Fruitnet.com.

The event aims to bring together agricultural suppliers from across Central America and put them into contact with international retailers, wholesalers, importers, distributors and brokers, as well as with supply chain products and service firms from the US, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, South America and Europe.
