An intercontinental link-up between the UK and Spain has birthed a new business unit to aid salad supply, Freshinfo has reported.
Spanish grower Natural & Salads has created a business unit to develop further its direct supply from grower to customer in conjunction with its UK sister company Das International.
The new unit, Natural Salads Direct, has been set up to ensure clarity of the company's direct sourcing strategy.
As part of the new venture Natural & Salads, which grows leafy salads, vegetables and melons, is also planning a promotional drive for winter salads, which will be announced in early November.
When and where required, Das International will provide additional logistical services to complement Natural Salads Direct, and continue its other fresh produce trading activities, the company said in a statement.
