IFCO has announced that Carrefour Greece, the country's leading retailer with over 350 stores, has agreed a service contract for the logistics group to become its Reusable Packaging Service Provider for fruit and vegetables.
'The environmentally friendly packaging system of IFCO enables Carrefour to further comply with its commitment to offer high quality and hygiene standards to its customers and to achieve cost savings and efficiency improvements over the entire supply chain of the fruit and vegetable market,' said Theodosios Staikopoulos, supply chain director of Carrefour Greece.
IFCO chief executive Karl Pohler, meanwhile, said that ICFO was committed to delivering a 'superior logistics service' to Carrefour and the retail market in Greece.
'This agreement is a milestone in our efforts to develop the Greece retail market and to further strengthen our leading market position,' he explained.
