Switzerland-based Coop is expected to triple its range of exotic fruits from Fairtrade within the next year, according to a report by Planet Retail.

The retailer operates with a share of share of more than 50 per cent of total Max Havelaar-certified products in the country, making it by far the largest supplier of Fairtrade products in Switzerland.

Since the introduction of the first Max Havelaar-certified products at Coop, the range has grown steadily, the retail market specialist revealed.

Over the past 12 months, the range has been extended by 30 new items and now includes some 180 different products, 120 of which are food items.
