Anglia Business Solutions has revealed that its Microsoft NAV-based LINKFresh application, a leading packaged business management system for the fresh food sector, has been voted Vertical Solution of 2011 at the European IT Excellence awards.

The winning entry featured the LINKFresh solution deployed for MMD (Shipping Services) Ltd at Portsmouth Port in the UK, and beat off stiff competition from four other shortlisted entries from France, the Netherlands, Turkey and the UK.

Anglia's system is designed to manage the unloading of ships at the port using digital manifests, handling the unloaded product in real-time through the packhouse and dynamically tracking all financial transactions.

The European competition entries shortlisted for the 2011 vertical category award were large-scale solutions operating on world class technology,' said Anglia's managing director David Hurley. 'To win against such high quality competitors is extremely gratifying.

'It is an excellent tribute to the working partnership between the MMD and Anglia teams,' he added. 'Both parties pulled out all the stops to produce a first-class IT solution that has helped to transform the business.'
