Assured Food Standards (AFS) is a high profile initiative to promote confidence in UK food production
standards. AFS manages six farm assurance schemes as well as the Red Tractor logo on food packs
and has substantial support both politically and across the food chain.
A key objective is to develop Red Tractor into the "Flagship for British Food & Farming", using world class
standards, independent auditing and robust compliance at its core.
Sector Chairman key responsibilities: working with the Sector Board so it contributes to the Red Tractor
vision & purpose and continued development of the Scheme and standards. The ideal candidate will have
experience of the fresh produce industry while being able to demonstrate independence. Part time position

HIGH CARE TECHNICAL MANAGER REQUIRED
We are seeking a technical manager for a new fruit processing facility based in N.W. Kent.
The position is within a long established family run business looking to expand its operations.
The successful applicant will have experience in high care production systems and SOP's required
By high street retailers and should also be qualified in HACCP and food hygiene standards.
Ideally a knowledge of both UK and imported soft fruit would be an advantage but not essential.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to be involved in a start-up project from its' inception
with great expanion prospects.
The applicant should be adaptable and able to work "hands on" with our existing management and QC team.

Senior Banana Ripener
A position has become available for a Senior Banana Ripener
at Fyffes Bananas Ltd (Swords, North County Dublin, Ireland).
Reporting to the Ripening Manager, the role involves ripening and planning bananas.
The candidate will be expected to and take the pressure and responsibilities that go along
with this front line time sensitive position.
To deliver the correct quantity of bananas in the right condition to production and sales orders
(Retail and Wholesale) in line with the plan.
. Maximise fruit utilisation, to reduce and eliminate waste
. Record all observation and changes to ripening conditions
. Ensure compliance with BRC, and customer specfific rules and systems
. Collaborate with Warehouse & Packaging Team for Forklift truck drivers to manage the intake of fruit and consumables,
loading and unloading of rooms, and a timely efficient delivery of fruit to packaging & sales orders
. To plan and manage fruit on a weekly basis to meet customer requirements according to sales forecasts
. Recording and maintaining Ripening Plan.
. Cover for Ripening Manager in his absence including all green intake planning and fruit ordering.
Strong communication skills and a good understanding of the English language.
Good numerical skills.
Very strong organisational abilities.
Hands on approach.
Conscientious and committed with an eye for detail.
Ability to work on own initiative and in a team environment.
Must be able to work effectively under pressure.
Decisive with a need to be able to priortise work load.
The ideal candidate should be self motivated,
very flexible and a good team player.
Flexibility will be required in terms of shift
pattern and hours worked, in order to meet
the daily demands of the business.
The role will involve working Bank Holidays
and weekends as per shift pattern.
Must be able to transport themselves to and
from work easily at various times of the day.
