Swithenbank Foods chiefs have swooped for Linda Allen as managing director after she impressed while running its sister firm.

Allen was signed to Lincolnshire-based Lambert Brothers last October with a view to taking over at Swithenbank.

The appointment leaves current md Richard Moore to concentrate on his role as chairman.

Meanwhile Nick Burnard - who has considerable experience working with growers in Europe - has been hired to spearhead sourcing operations at prestigious Paris market Rungis.
