Importer AFI Direct Sales has reported strawberry supply patterns returning to usual for the time of year with larger sizes of fruit coming through in Israeli Yael and Egyptian Tamar.

An increase in volume from Morocco of the Camarosa and Cartuna varieties is also forecast. And with temperatures rising and fields drying up slightly in Spain, the season from Huelva should be underway in volume by the third week of February.

Low temperatures and rainfall have made life particularly hard for organic supplies but improved weather conditions should enhance availability.

Meanwhile, Chile is dominating the supply picture in blueberries and raspberries.
