Greece has undergone an extremely cold winter in January, but production of Thompson and Attica Seedless are expected to be similar to last year's crop.

The main growing areas experienced heavy rainfall from November 2001 to January this year, but this has proved beneficial to vines.

'The only problem Greek growers are expecting to face is botrytis,' reports Mimi Spiliopoulou of Fesa UK. 'But this will be treated in the early stages of flowering.'
