A study conducted jointly by the US universities of Rutgers and Michigan has found that cranberries could be helpful in protecting against bacteria that cause urinary tract infections. The discovery is all the more important as the bacteria is growing resistant to antibiotics. It may mean that regular consumption of cranberry juice could cut down on the need to use antibiotics.
