Visitors flocked to the first British Strawberry Fair, held by National Summer Fruits (NSF) at Kent's Hop Farm.

Cookery demonstrations from local chefs and celebrity cook Michael Barry were the order of the day on June 22 and 23.

The NSF's own stand offered tastings of more than 2,000 punnets of strawberries, and the new Jewels of Summer recipe book.

The weather held out, while visitors enjoyed the jazz band and a gourmet dinner.

Waitrose sponsored the Fair, and many of their growers answered visitors' questions about all aspects of strawberry production
