The crop hardest hit by rainfall and hail in the regions of Valencia and Murcia last week was Moscatel grape. However, there has also been damage to late stone-fruit production, early citrus and vegetables and salads in some areas.

In general, though grower representatives in both regions are pleased that the rains have brought them savings in terms of irrigation as well as improved fruit quality.

The negative effects in Murcia have been strongest on apricot, plum and peach crops but have also helped an area which has been experiencing drought-like conditions. And in Valencia some citrus crops have been affected.
