With the start of the new season, there is a marked increase in the marketing of vegetables from Gaza to Israel.

About 300 tonnes of fresh vegetables each day are crossing the borders from Gaza and reaching the markets within Israel, according to data jointly released by the ministry of agriculture in Tel Aviv and the agricultural ministry of the Palestinian Authority .

The bulk of the vegetables slated for the Israeli markets are tomatoes and cucumbers. In addition, Palestinian farmers in the Gaza Region export daily about 40t of fresh produce to markets in the West Bank.

According to the data, agricultural export from Israel to the Palestinian Authority is continuing uninterrupted and amounts to an average of 250t per day, comprising mainly fruits, such as apples, avocado, melons and bananas.

The Palestinian farmers from the Gaza region are currently exporting to western Europe large quantities of strawberries and cherry tomatoes and have sent from the start of the season nearly one million carnations to Europe.

The logistics and marketing is carried out by Agrexco but the produce is marketed under the Coral label.
