Hargreaves Plants, a European leader in the supply of soft fruit and asparagus plants has broadened its horizons outside of its home continent.

In an exclusive deal with All One Korea Co Ltd, Hargreaves Plants has loaded a significant trial quantity of everbearer plants onto a container bound for the South Korean capital city, Seoul.

Architect of the deal, Jamie Petchell, said: 'One of the most pleasing aspects of this deal is that we have found a new market for Bolero, a variety considered an also ran by many UK multiples. We have put a great deal of effort into this order and we are delighted to have formed an excellent working relationship with All One Korea.' Commercial director Rupert Hargreaves stated: 'All One Korea are aiming to harvest high quality fruit from July until October. The deal is commercially linked into a major chain of stores, with 550 outlets across Japan, where high quality fresh strawberries are one of the main ingredients.' Petchell said: 'The Korean/Japanese markets are well known for being very tough and I am glad that All One Korea have identified Hargreaves as being the company with which they chose to work. They were clearly hugely impressed with our facilities, plant quality systems and the technical support we have put in place.' Hargreaves added: 'We are always looking for new opportunities. The Far East has always been an area of great interest to us and I am happy to have broken into this market so successfully.

'If all goes according to plan then the order is expected to increase ten-fold over the next four years, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with All One Korea.'
