Fresh and exotic ingredients specialist Beacon Foods is turning its thoughts to the salad days of summer with a range of new ingredients for sandwiches and salads designed for the summer months.

Grilled Mediterranean vegetable mixes along with bar-marked peppers, aubergines, courgettes and pineapples rings are top of the list. For those looking for different flavours in their salads and sandwich fillings, there are also caramelised pineapple chunks, apples and tomatoes.

New flavour-packed mixes including roasted vegetables and fruits are also set to appear in a range of food products this summer thanks to successful trials at Beacon Foods.

The company sees a big future for flame grilled and bar-marked fruits, which give sandwiches, salads and other dishes a distinctive barbecue-type flavour. Fruit ingredients such as chargrilled peaches and apricots and honey-roasted pineapples are already adding to the sandwich.

From its state-of-the-art facilities in the Brecon Beacons National Park, Beacon Foods supplies the country's leading food manufacturers and food service companies with a range of more than 500 varieties of processed and cooked vegetables, fruits, pulses and herbs, including an organic range.

The ingredients and flavours find their way into ready meals, sandwiches, soups, stuffings, salsas, vegetable dishes and desserts, which all demand the highest standards of safety and quality.
