Nearly new Driscoll strawberry variety Jubilee created a stir last week. Entries of the everbearer submitted by KG strawberry grower and vice chairman Alastair Brooks of Langdon Manor farm in Kent were placed first in all classes it was entered in as well as winning three trophies at the cherry and soft fruit show, part of the Kent County Agricultural Show.

'I am delighted that the Driscoll Jubilee strawberries were so highly rated by the judges,' said Brooks, 'and completely overwhelmed to have won all three trophies. Since being selected we knew that Driscoll Jubilee was an outstanding new variety which has been well and truly vindicated by the Show's eminent judges.' Marion Regan of Hugh Lowe Farms was also awarded the Worshipful Company of Fruiterers Medal for the Most Meritorious Exhibit of Soft Fruit, which included an entry of Driscoll Jubilee.
