Tastes of Anglia has seen a trend towards the production of new, exciting and innovative food and drink.

The group who promote food and drink produced in the six counties of Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk believes that new flavours reflect changing consumer taste.

Some of the new additions include mozzarella cheese made with milk from Buffalo, while 400-year old family recipes from the Punjab in India are still being used to create chicken pickles and chutneys by Prahb Sandhu in Hitchin.

Other additions include alcoholic ice cream, and a new company in Lowestoft has seen a gap at the top end of the chocolate market, creating delicious herb and spice enhanced chocolates with soft centres such as lemon and thyme.

Colin Clark, chief executive of Tastes of Anglia, said: 'We are continuing to attract new members offering traditional fare, but it is surprising how many are venturing into more innovative and exotic products.'
