The new depot at Scordia in Sicily will open on October 1 and has been set up with retailers in mind. The full range of Euro Pool crates will be stocked at the new depot although the most used is likely to be the 60x40x24cm for citrus, lettuce and potatoes. Euro Pool also forecasts strong demand for its model 13 crates which are low, foldable containers particularly suitable for fresh tomatoes. Strong interest in receiving Sicilian exports in Euro Pool's characteristic blue crates has already been shown by German retailers.
