The third UK onion and carrot conference will be held on November 26 (onions) and November 27 (carrots) at Chilford Hall near Cambridge.

The conference is being organised by the British Onion Producers Association, the British Carrot Growers Association, Plantsystems Ltd and the Allium and Brassica Centre.

Professor Leonard Pike of Texas will be speaking on “sweet onions in the USA” on Wednesday and “5-a-day initiatives in the USA” on Thursday. In addition speakers from around Europe will appear at the conference.

A conference dinner will be held on Wednesday in the Great Hall at Chilford Hall and the after dinner speaker will be Michael Fish of the BBC weather centre.
