Midlands regional food group, Heart of England Fine Foods (HEFF) has reported a booking bonanza in the run-up its first regional trade show, a local food and drink product showcase to be held on October 12-13 at Millennium Point in Birmingham.

The show will host more than 60 local exhibitors, six cookery theatres, a first class restaurant and catering facility, and has support from Advantage West Midlands, Electrolux Foodservice, and the Midlands Association of Chefs.

“The speciality food sector is a growing business here in the Midlands,” said HEFF trade show organiser, Jo Amos. “We have a great tradition of producing top-quality regional food and drink products, plus a fantastic range of contemporary and ethnic food specialities, which all take great skill and dedication to perfect.

“Already more than 600 trade visitors have requested tickets, many booking directly over the internet at www.heff.co.uk. Among them we have buyers from a whole range of food businesses, including grocery retailing, catering and city food hall buyers.”

“The whole aim of the show is to encourage buyers to take a fresh look at regional produce ñ to see and taste what is made right on their doorstep. Ultimately we want to promote more use of regional products in the home, at restaurants and pubs, and to offer consumers more of a regional range at supermarkets, convenience stores, delicatessens and farm shops," she said.
