Ulma Packaging has targeted the produce market with its versatile Etna machine. The Etna, a recent addition to the Ulma product offer, is a vertical form fill and seal machine. It has already proven successful in UK and continental marketplaces.

Ideal for handling products such as potatoes, carrots, florets and salads as well as other fresh produce, the machine offers a number of benefits. It is fully servo- driven, accurate, and virtually maintenance free. An interactive user interface with a touch screen allows quick format changes and self-diagnosis to be made.

The Etna is capable of producing 80 packs per minute, and its robust construction makes it an ideal choice for this demanding industry.

Its compact footprint, strong frame and mechanical reliability, together with an easy-to-access and easy-to-maintain system make it ideal for current and future needs of the vertical packaging market. Individual solutions can be developed to meet customer's specific needs.

Ulma's managing director Derek Paterson said: "Clearly, we are delighted with the success of the Etna in the UK produce market. It is a reliable and highly versatile machine equally at home operating as a stand-alone or as part of a fully integrated line. It has already proven to be a great success with a number of strategic machine placements.

"The company is keen to continue to build on this success, and is confident that the machine offers great value for money combined with versatility. There is no doubt that the Etna is an ideal choice ñ a quality machine, well priced and ready for all the demands of a demanding industry."
