Waste management consultancy Adas is looking for food businesses in the north-west to take part in the Environlink north-west project ñ Transformation of Waste to Products (TW2P).

The £1.9 million initiative aims to reduce reuse and recycle waste from their operations and aims to save companies large sums of money.

Adas environment project director Brian Sanders says: “Food processing and catering businesses are among the biggest producers of waste. We believe we can make significant strides in helping them to reduce the level of waste, and turn components of the waste stream into products that have alternative uses.

“We believe we can reduce the huge volume of waste dumped upon the dwindling resources of landfill sites, and reduce the waste disposal costs faced by food businesses.”
