The exhibition took place in April over three days in Warsaw, and had 291 exhibitors from 24 countries participating. Spanish company, Anglo Espanola Group, exhibited at the fair and sales manager Patricia Hernandez said: "This food show is very good. Within the first couple of hours of the show we made some great contacts and now expect to be exporting to Poland by June."

More than 5,500 industry professionals attended the show, with 67 per cent of visitors being senior employees or owners of industry companies, which pleased exhibition organisers Montgomery International and CEE-MTW Exhibitions. The organisers targeted industry players with the new Quality Buyer Programme, which resulted in representatives from major retailers Carrefour and Geant, as well as chefs from major hotel groups such as the Marriot and Grand Hyatt.

Head of corporate affairs at Tesco Polska Wojciech Sokol said the fair was interesting, facilitating contacts between suppliers and retailers and that the Polish food sector offered big potential. Ninety-three per cent of visitors said they would attend IFE Poland 2005.
