LauritzenCool concentrates South American activities in Chile

From the coming fruit season the transportation of seasonal fruits out of South America on LauritzenCool vessels will be managed from the company’s newly established South America regional office in Santiago, Chile.

LauritzenCool carries almost one million pallets of fresh fruit out of Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay every year, making it one of the shippers of fresh produce in the region.

The Santiago office will now centralise control all activities, including marketing, operation and trade accounting of all contracts. The control and scheduling of the fleet will continue to be managed by the head office in Stockholm, Sweden.

Head of the South America regional office will be Kent Bach-Laursen.

“This strategic move will bring LauritzenCool much closer to the customers and their market places, and it will contribute to better coordination of all activities. The re-organization will make it easier to follow market developments, recognise future needs of the clients and thereby make it easier to improve existing services and develop new services to the LauritzenCool customers,” said a statement.

“The network of local agency functions and terminals in the respective countries will be maintained and their responsibilities will remain unchanged. They as well as the new regional office will report directly to Henrik Madsen in Stockholm.”
